Diet Tip for April 2010
Diet Tip for April:
So what’s the big Deal?
I’m a bit overweight, but that just means there’s more of me to love
Obesity, it is said to be the #1 problem in America. As Americans we absolutely love large portions of food. When we go into a restaurant we expect the food to be cheap and the steaks to be HUGE and of course there are the buffets, I mean it’s definitely the greatest invention since sliced bread. Who doesn’t love chowing down for only 10 bucks?
But with all this alluring food around us, this has led us to become quite…large in the abdominal area.
When people eat too many of these calories then they become obese. Being obese means that a person has too much body fat. As human beings our bodies are made up of several things like water, fat, protein, carbohydrate and various vitamins and minerals. But if you have too much of the fat especially in your waist area then you are at a high risk of developing health problems. Some of the health problems include high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Medical research and health experts have identified that being overweight or obese does increase your chances of contracting these ailments more so then a person of normal weight.
Some of the other health risks for obesity are…
• An increase in blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
• It can lower your HDL or “good” cholesterol. (HDL cholesterol is linked with lower heart disease and stroke risk, so reducing it tends to raise the risk)
• It can induce or activate your diabetes.
• It may also harms more than just your heart and blood vessel system. It’s also a major cause of gallstones and can worsen degenerative joint disease.
• Women gaining more than 20 pounds from age 18 to midlife may double their risk of postmenopausal breast cancer, compared to women whose weight remains stable.
Remember, not only is this scary for you but it can also be quite frightening for the friends and family around you! Because An estimated 300,000 deaths per year is said to be attributed to obesity. Loved ones don’t want to see you suffer, they want to see you prosper and live a healthy life! Well..maybe except for your in-laws.
So it is truly important that you take that first step in losing that unwanted weight! It is possible for an over-weight/obese person to make that change but they do have to work at it much harder and with much greater dedication than people of normal weight. We at Dietpillwhack recommend Phentramin-D to help you eat less and have more energy. But yes! Get out there and be active in your life! As they say Carpe Diem (seize the day)!
